OMG! Kajol and Shahrukh are together in Dilwale! Bollywood fans just cannot contain the excitement. And just when we pulled ourselves together, a song from the movie Dilwale swept us off the feet. Surely watching Gerua video made us fall in love with this romantic duo all over again and took us down the memory lane. It is a magic recreated by the undeniable chemistry between Kajol and Shahrukh, the spectacular scenic beauty of Iceland and last but not the least a host of dreamy costumed that Kajol wore throughout the song.
The black gown:
Anyone who has seen the video of Gerua from Dilwale will find it difficult not to think of the flowing black gown with a vibrant orange border Kajol wore in one of the scenes. The end of that dress danced like a wildfire in the wind teasing our secret desire to have a dress just like that (though I think I will trip over that skirt a hundred times a day if I wore it anywhere else but in my dreams). Manish Malhotra spun his brand of magic around our favorite heroine in that scene making her look out of this world.
The striped skirt:
The song also features a beautiful sheer navy top with white and black striped skirt that Kajol wore on a boat. The designer did a fabulous job in that dress too. It was oozing elegance and never overpowered the protagonist for once. The georgette dress accentuated her and made her look classy, suave, and mature.
The Shirt with Skirt:
And there’s also the red ethnic skirt heavy on embroidery in which Kajol ran across a lake. The black silk shirt went so well with the red skirt making the look pristine. The only accessory used in this look is the belt and yet she looked so chic.
But many of us think that she looked her best in the sarees featured in the song sequence. It is a well-known fact that like any Bong beauty, Kajol looks her best in sarees. And when those sarees are designed by Manish Malhotra, things go from dreamy to a surreal state. But enough of fangirling! Let us discuss her many saree looks in the song. And I’ve also got a pleasant surprise for you in the end.
The Beige Saree:
Is it nude? Is it golden? Is it beige? We are perplexed. But there’s no denying the fact that it’s the best thing Kajol wore in this song. The sequin blouse goes perfectly with the saree increasing the glam quotient up a few notches and then the hair color and the waves did the rest.
The Yellow Saree:
This look suits Kajol to the tee. The bright yellow saree also made us a little nostalgic about the beautiful yellow churidar in DDLJ. The fact that she kept her makeup minimal and gave accessories a miss kept the look from going OTT.
The Red Saree:
Ooh! That shade of red is mesmerizing, isn’t it? The saree goes so well with the black designer blouse, it is almost criminal. How can one be real and look so good at the same time? And the fact that the scene involves a waterfall and three rainbows (no special effects), somehow enhanced the magic. Oh! And did I mention that according to the making of Gerua this is the place where Kajol saved SRK from slipping? Lucky him!
